Good morning!

Question: Have you ever pondered God's grace? Mercy? Love?

I encourage you to do so today. It's amazing what will come to your mind - like all His promises He told His children.

Just step outside and take a walk - listen to the birds chirping and think about God's creation. His beauty.

A few thoughts I had during my devotions:

I grew up in a Christian household. I went to church at 10am and 6pm on Sundays, blessed the food right before partaking and tried to serve in the church as much as possible.

But, looking back, I believe I just wanted to be a good Christian - doing all of those deeds that I thought would make God proud of me; love me more. And all the while, I was looking at others and thinking just because they were sitting on the pews that God loved them less.

Those were the lies I told myself.

That's dangerous indeed because I was looking at others and not looking at my own heart and mind.

Allow me to emphasize.

The power of knowing God is knowing that we deserve His wrath. That sounds terrifying to me. We all know, and have been taught that God is a loving God, but how are we to understand His amazing love when we don’t understand His righteous anger?

Then life changed when I realized - you will never be able to do anything to make Him love you more. Romans 3:23 says:

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Ouch. But soo true.

I know this: God’s grace to His children is amazing. That’s why the song, Amazing Grace, exists. Take a moment and deeply listen to the lyrics. Hey, maybe even take a walk outside blasting this song!

So, what did you this remind you of? The chorus of the song especially strikes me:

My chains are gone, I've been set free

My God, my Savior has ransomed me

And like a flood His mercy reigns

There is nothing more liberating than hearing those words. We are free. There is nothing we can do to make Him love us more. Through His grace and mercy we cannot comprehend His love for us. That's amazing.
